Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
