Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician stands accused of performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
