A renowned South African media personality and entertainer has been fatally gunned down in the nation's economic hub Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation battling entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the city centre on a Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the forty-year-old presenter was accosted by a trio of assailants, one of whom shot at him before escaping on foot.
The reason behind the shooting has not been established and no one has been arrested are in custody, police said.
The Fatal Incident
Authorities revealed that Stock was attacked as he was departing from a building close to the city center landmark.
He had been present for hours at the building overseeing the implementation of security systems, which had been reportedly taken over by squatters, it was reported.
"It is alleged the victim was approached by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before escaping on foot," an official report stated.

The DJ sought to escape after he was shot but fell down a short distance away.
Officials noted that Stock had an weapon on his person and it was not a robbery during the incident.
